Are you an actor looking to deepen your craft, make meaningful industry connections, and perform for an audience of working television directors? This is your moment.
We're inviting a select group of performers to join us for an exclusive workshop experience where you'll collaborate with top TV directors as they refine their approach to working with actors. This is more than a showcase—it's a creative partnership, a training ground, and a networking event all in one.
We are seeking performers to volunteer to be part of the Directors Peer Group Workshop. Performers will rehearse and perform scenes with/for directors from the Television Academy. You will be notified within three days indicating whether you have or have not been selected to participate.
About the workshop:
Television Academy Directors will be participating in a three-day workshop to learn how to understand the acting process and work better with actors. Actors are needed for the culminating project, when directors get a chance to take what they've learned and apply it to rehearsing a scene.
What you will do:
Memorize a five-page, three-person scene before the workshop
Experience a full day of engagement with a director and fellow actor(s) on your scene, capped off with a live showcase of all scenes from 1:45 PM to 4:00 PM
Lunch will be included
Meet, mingle and network with fellow Directors, Performers and Writers peer group members
Participants:
This workshop will be led by Elise Forier Edie, an acting coach for over twenty years. Trained in multiple acting modalities, Elise carries certifications in both Rasaboxes and Meisner techniques and recently contributed to the book, Inside the Performance Workshop: A Sourcebook for Rasaboxes. She has taught acting and directing from New York to Los Angeles, and everywhere in between.
RSVP is required.
If you are feeling ill, please do not attend.
